Heritage
Lying Blood, Factol of the Dustmen, is a Tiefling of Abyssal bloodline - claiming to trace her great-grandfather as an Incubus. She was born and raised among a Drow colony in the Spiderweb Pits. Her Abyssal nature shows through in her lack of Irises, third eye, and scaled tail.
The Chant
Lying Blood first came to Sigil as the once-worshipper of one of the many gods of death. Her predisposition for necromancy and divine magics drew her to the Mortuary, where she was quickly taken in by the philosophy of the Dustmen.
Given her morbid fascination with death and the afterlife, she rose through the ranks whilst spending the majority of her time in the Mortuary as an embalmer, spending her free time in the library studying burial practices across the planes. She struggled with reigning in her passion for knowledge, but quickly learned how to rid herself of just about any hint of emotion.
This passionless drive saw her climb through the ranks with ease, becoming the right hand of the then-factol Skall. When he disappeared, she was a natural candidate to step in and replace him… though there was no official naming of a successor.
Nowadays, Lying Blood is looked up to within the faction as the epitome of a Dustman and the closest of anyone to the True Death. Any member of the Dead questioning their faith is brought before Lying Blood (if she doesn’t find them first!) and given an impartial, yet very convincing, discussion of their concerns.
